Fire and Dragons

Playing with watercolour techniques, using Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach, made a great "fiery" back ground for my dragon. I made sure I wet the paper by misting it with water before dropping on the colour with the aqua painter,  I let the colours run together and dabbed off any excess pools of coloured water.  This creates nice blends and lines where the colours meet. I stamped the dragon, from the Myths and Magic, set on separate white card, coloured him with Pool party and Basic Grey using the aqua painter and then used the matching dies to cut him out.  When he dried, I added some Wink of Stella to make his scales shine! The sentiment seemed to set off the card - from the Hug in a Mug set - warm thoughts indeed!! Mounting the card front onto Flirty Flamingo cardstock, a white layer inside and it's ready to go! You can see the Myth and Magic suite in the new Occasions catalogue available now! Keep creating!

Yay You!

Yay indeed! This Hostess stamp set is just lovely! The images are so dainty and delicate and can be used in so many ways. Here's what I came up with on my first play..... I used colours from a monthly challenge - Bermuda Bay, Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizazz and Chocolate Chip and I just love the result!! There is a pair of leafy branches that go in opposite directions making it easy to have branches hanging and intertwining. I layered the leafy branches and berries, then fussy cut some of the tiny images and popped them up on foam to give some dimension to the arrangement. When you host a Stampin' Up party for your crafty (or not- yet- crafty!) friends and earn Stampin' Rewards, this can be yours!  It's one of the exclusive Hostess sets from the Occasions catalogue - and there is plenty more in the annual catalogue as well! Make your friends envious and organise to get one today! Keep creating!

When it hots up...

It's turned hot and sticky here as summer really sets in.  What better way to cool off than to play with the Cool treats! This set has ice cream in a cone, ice blocks on a stick and sundaes with a cherry on top - if that's what you like!!  You can make them any way you like with cherries, sprinkles, choc tops and even a spoon! The stamps layer to give the realistic swirls and definition.  There is a whopping 36 polymer stamps in this set so you can get that realistic detail every time.  The sentiments, in a fun font, play on the Cool treats  theme. Using colours stamped off once for the background, and full strength for the detail, means you don't need lots of different coloured inks to achieve a great results. If you don't like fussy cutting around these images, you'll love that there are coordinating framelits (Frozen treats Framelits on pg 213 in the annual catalogue). Now, off to the freezer, to get a real ice block and take a moment to co...

Cake Soiree

It isn't all about cake!! The Cake Soiree set has an abundance of gorgeousness!! There are flowers everywhere, turning whatever you do into something beautiful. The coordinating Designer Series Paper makes the perfect background that features metallic touches. I love the confetti / falling snow look of this one. I enjoyed playing with the stamped and die-cut flowers and leaves.  There are so many to choose from that you can easily make a bouquet just by mixing and matching! In this one, the rich colours  pop against the Old Olive background with threads of silver.   Add a simple sentiment and its done! Check out this bundle now and start creating your floral beauties!
