Paper Doll Design

The days are cooler here so what better way to feel warmer than to make a bright and cheery card - or two! A while ago I sat down and stamped and coloured this gorgeous floral spray from Petal Palette stamp set.  I thought they would be ready for quick cards - and they were! These two cards were made using the new In colours paper and card stock. It is easy to create different looks very easily - you could make a whole series of these and have them on hand ready for any occasion. Very easy to make. Cut a panel for your card front out of the In colour paper (Pineapple punch and Lovely Lipstick were used here). Cut a banner using matching cardstock.  (On the Lovely Lipstick one, I added another strip of coordinating paper for a bit of interest.) Stamp you sentiment either directly onto the cardstock or onto a white strip of cardstock making sure there is room to add your flowers. Assemble by raising the banner on dimensionals, adding ...

Today we are CASEing Danielle Kassing from the Netherlands. I got lost in her blog - Stamp Along - with all the lovely cards and projects she had posted. I decided on this water-coloured background card. I decide to do mine in portrait using greens and berry colours. I washed the water colour cardstock and then dropped the colour on the water soaked area.   I started with the lightest, which was Mint Macaron.  Next I added Tranquil Tide and let it run into the lighter ink a little.  I decided I wanted a little contrast so added little splatters of Rich Razzleberry which blended in nicely as it dried. I used one of the Pearl doilies with a punched sentiment for the centre. The lovely flowers were fussy cut from the Share What You Love DSP. Delicate Delightfully Detailed  DSP - now there's a tongue twister!! It may be tricky to say, but so easy to make cards that have a WOW! factor. It is delicate and the best way to cut this laser cut paper, I found was to snip out pieces that you could use in a variety of ways. If the piece was too big for the project I would just snip the edges off.  If I needed to cut the whole project down, it was best to turn it over and cut from the back with the trimmer. The paper has two sides, white and vanilla so it works with different card bases and backgrounds. It really pops when you put it on dark cardstock .  How easy!!  Cut out pieces (or use up leftovers) and add a sentiment - DONE!! Adding colour behind. For this one I laid down the piece I had across the card and lightly marked around the main features with a pencil. Hi Everyone, Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Jessica Brigden. I have always liked the Petal Palette Suite and so when I saw these cards from a card kit that Jessica had been promoting, I was tempted to break out my stamp set and replicate the lovely purple card straight away!! I decided I could file that away in my ideas file for later as I really wanted to try something different. The new Share What You Love DSP has some lovely images that are great to fussy cut.  I love the colours too as they go so well together. So out came the scissors and I snipped away until I had a bunch of blooms. I rearranged them into this beautiful bouquet. Don't they look great together?! The sentiment is from the Love What You Do stamp set - just love that font!
