Today I wanted to challenge myself to try something a bit different by showing the versatility of any stamp set - even if it only has a few images - and do three cards with either different techniques or use the stamp in a different way. Maybe even look at the stamps in the set and see what else I can do with them. I thought this would be a good way to show someone, that may be interested in a particular set, or trying to decide, or thinking a particular set didn't do very much, to think again and see the possibilities.

As I opened my newly arrived box of goodies, this set was there, looking at me!

It was the Lovely Lattice stamp set - one of the Sale-a-bration redemption sets. It only had three stamps in the set so it may be overlooked but was perfect for my challenge.

The first card I did, I used just part of the stamp in the corners, rotating it just a little to get a slightly different image and filled in with the small flower. I coloured the flowers with watercolour pencils, then used my aqua painter to blend the colours but leaving a few of the pencil lines for texture.

I love how bright and cheery it turned out. The sentiment is from another Sale-a-bration set, Hello Cupcake.

I liked the bunches of flowers, so next I stamped onto a piece of Whisper White and cut out just the blooms I wanted and coloured them with markers. For the base I used one of the Petal Pair embossing folders through the centre of the Granny Apple Green card base to give some added texture and to "extend" the blooms. The stitched shapes oval fit perfectly between the blooms. The sentiment is from Botanical Bliss set.

Next I tried a technique that I have not tried before - the Stained Glass technique.

To do this I stamped the complete main image onto Vellum Cardstock. (This is thick enough to take heat embossing) and then I embossed with white embossing powder.

You need to turn the image over - it is very easy to still see all the lines from the back to colour in. I used markers again for this image. You don't need to be too careful with keeping in the lines, as such, as the embossed lines are thick enough to hide any little over-colouring!

When you turn the image back to the right side, it looks like stained glass!!

A white embossed sentiment on black really helped the image pop, and a little bow to finish it off. The bow is made from another Sale-a-bration item - the Organdy Ribbon, which is so popular and in short supply here in Australia.

So here are the three cards, all made with the same set but have very different looks.
