Who doesn't like cupcakes??!!

Making cupcakes to eat can be creative with all the flavours and toppings to choose from.  The end result is yummy!! As is this stamp set from Stampin' Up - Sweet cupcakes. This is a layering stamp set.  When using the layers you get a 3-D type of result - a cupcake with frosting that is almost good enough to lick! I had fun with this one! Some finished cupcakes waiting to be made into cards. There are endless combos for the icing and the base - is it vanilla or chocolate cupcake or is it in a cupcake liner? Here's how they turned out.

Beautiful You

What a great name for this stamp set -  Beautiful You! Two sets in one as well!! It has a vintage, nostalgic touch to it that fits many occasions. Reminds me a free spirited friend that I used to work with that could carry off a modern vintage look so well. The sentiments are lovely too especially with that mix of font. There are two stamps that look like a scribble, but, in fact, are the dress and the skirt.  This free form gives it a lovely fluid, water coloured look - made easy peasy !! Instead of using the "scribble" I decided to stamp and cut out the dresses. The red dress paper had a pattern that actually made it look like a brocade fabric, making it very vogue looking! The yellow dress was inspired by my friend.  I could see her in this dress, doing this pose, singing this sentiment as her mantra.  To bring out the sunny yellow, I sponged a border that would sneak out from under the image.  I did this by lightly marking the border

Colour INKspiration challenge #CI06

Never entered a challenge before!!! This was something new for me, but I thought I would give it a go. The colours set for us from Colour INKspiration  were : Calypso Coral Bermuda Bay Night of Navy Gold foil I was inspired by these colours  - don't they look so exotic, so fun???!! My mind went into overdrive with ideas. Some worked, some didn't! I tried the "smoosh" technique, where I pressed my card against the inks that have been watered down on a block.  Uh-ah, no, that didn't come out too good.  Ended up with a, sort of, brown mess. I knew I wanted to use the Delicate Details stamp set  in the gold or the sentiment in gold.  I have limited Stampin' Up sentiments but enough to make this work, I thought. I ended up with two very different cards - and I love them both!! My first card using the Delicate Details with some paper roses to finish it off.     The second is using the Falling flowers stamp set and May Flowers fr

With Sympathy

Today one of my colleagues had to rush from work as she had received the news that he mother had not long to live. What devastating news!  Even though her mother was elderly and had been unwell, it still comes as a shock.  She dashed to her side and was able to spend another day with her before it was time to say goodbye. This truly pulled at my heart strings as I, too, have a mother who is  unwell, in hospital, but far away. The Stampin Up colours of:     Smokey Slate,     Mint Macaron and   Blushing Bride     made a soothing combination. I wanted to make a card to express my sympathy for my colleague and her family. Here's what I made:     When I looked at the finished card it needed a "little something" to lift it.   Wink of Stella to the rescue!   See Wink of Stella here   How had I lived without this product??   A pen with a fine brush nib that allows you to apply a subtle, smooth and quick drying shimmer to your work!  This is a
