Birthday time

I have a few birthdays coming up, so I set about creating in order to get ahead of the game and be ready to post them out. I had my dish of die cut flowers tempting me so I decided to make one of them the star of the show. I kept the card neutral and used a pop of colour. I finished it off with a beautiful bling button. I love the lace finish from the Delicate details and how effective it is when gold emboss. It, along with the Avant garden set, are retiring but I thought I would make good use with a birthday card for my mother in law. Let's see what else I come up with for the next few up coming birthdays.

Retirement is fun - of stamps that is, not me!

We’re getting ready to retire products from both the 2016-2017 annual and 2017 occasions catalogues. You don’t want  to miss out! Select retiring products have discounts of up to 50% off. Be sure to place orders before the sun sets on these items 31 May! It is great time to pick up some bargains, and all those sets you've had your eye on. As the current catalogue comes to an end and the new one is just around the corner, it means we have just a short time to get those things from our wish list. What have you had your eye on? There are always those pages that you hesitate on when browsing the catalogue, taking a moment to see how the clever designers have used it, wondering what you can make with it........ Well, now is the time to stop procrastinating and go order it!! Unfortunately, it is only until stocks last, so don't miss out! Shop with me now!

My first colour challenge!

I am very excited about being picked in the Top 5 for the Colour Inkspiration challenge! This was my first time entering any challenge where I had to show off my work amongst some very accomplished designers. As I only joined Stampin' Up recently my stash is still growing - at a steady pace I might add! So not only did I have to work within the  colours, I also had to work with what I had in my new supplies. Sometimes, having less to work with can make us more focused. This was the card I created with the colours: Calypso Coral Bermuda Bay Night of Navy Touch of Gold Looking forward to the new colours in the next challenge and hoping I have them in my stash to participate.   If not I will play along at home with what I have!

Craft days are such fun!

I love having my crafty friends over for a day of crafting. The first hour is always crazy with catching up on what everyone has been up to, how things are and what they have planned for the day. I try to create some sort of challenge. It could be follow a card sketch or map, maybe a colour challenge where we draw colours from a hat and have to use them to make our creations. As Easter is just around the corner, I thought I would try a couple of easy make and takes. The first was like a simple origami folded pocket. Take a 6x6 in or 15x 15 cm square of paper. Turn it on it's point. Then fold one corner to meet the opposite. Make sure your triangle has the long edge at the bottom and fold one corner across to the other edge. Then take the other corner to the opposite edge, meeting with the first fold. Take one of the pieces at the top and fold down over the crossover. This will hold it all secure. It gives you a place to decorate or put a sentimen
