Can't get enough!

Hey everyone, Can't get enough??  Of what??  Petal Palette, that's what! There are just so many things you can create with this set of stamps and dies. With the black and white DSP, I have seen some lovely monochrome designs and with the ability to colour a lot of the images, it just opens up endless possibilities! At a craft day on the weekend, there was lots of laughter, chatting and even some creating going on! We had been playing with emboss resist and inking up our backgrounds, so this seemed a nice alternative. To use the black and white DSP, and then colouri in the leaves using Lemon lime twist and Emerald envy and then adding black stamped images.  They really seem to pop off the card! The next one I CASEd (Copied and Selectively Edited).  I had seen some similar ideas on Pinterest several times (examples by Marelle Taylor,  Windy Wellard and Amy Koenders).  I needed a thank you card for a lady who is taken with the colour S...

Birthday Blooms

Hi everyone, I have looked and looked at the stamp set Beautiful Blooms, loving it each time I turn to it in the annual catalogue.  I have no idea why I hadn't bought it earlier! But now I have it and it was the set I turned to when another colour challenge came up recently. The colours reminded me of gelato!! Thinking cap on, Beautiful Blooms at the ready and I got to work!     I stamped the bloom and then water coloured the image using the aqua painter and inks to colour it.   I wanted to "ground" the image so I used a stencil and blended Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay as I went to give a type of trellis look. I then raised the bloom on foam dimensionals. The card was mounted on Sweet sugarplum after  adding a sentiment from the beautiful scripted sentiments included in the set, using Soft suede (which I had also used in the leaves). I doesn't really show here, but the bloom was finished off with a Wink of Ste...

Colour INKspiration #29

Colour INKspiration has a new colour challenge every fortnight on a Wednesday evening.  I am always excited to see what combo is waiting for us, and then I get my thinking cap on! I am particularly thrilled to be a guest in this Colour INKspiration #CI29 blog hop! The challenge for #CI29 had a lovely rustic feel and I was instantly drawn to the lovely bouquet. I started thinking woodland......cascading flowers....woodgrain.....texture... and surprisingly, it came to me pretty quickly what I wanted to do. I pulled out the colours I needed and started to put it all together. I used my layering circle framelits to cut a circle frame from the Wood Texture DSP with a Very Vanilla circle underneath for stamping my sentiment. The flowers and leaves were cut using the Bouquet Bunch framelits.  I trimmed the bunches down to get the shapes I wanted and cut some individual ones to add here and there. Added a bit of dimensio...

Picture perfect party paper!

Picture perfect party paper - now there's a tongue twister!! This Designer series paper is so fun.  It has beautifully photographed party accents that seem to pop from the page. There's everything party - party hats, whistles, bows, confetti, presents and donuts.  Yep, mouth watering donuts! With icing!! I saw some cards created by Mercedes Weber, where she used this Polaroid style on her cards so I just had to try it. It showcases the paper so well. The paper pack is 6 x 6 so you can get 4 cards from one sheet which means you can create a whole lot in a very short time.  The reverse of the papers have great co-ordinating patterns that I made into little banners. From here it doesn't require many embellishments, just a little sparkle with a glimmer paper star! These can be used for all sorts of things - not just birthdays.  Any celebration really, and even to cheers someone up.  I mean, who wou...

Easy to make a bundle of cards!

Are you always rushing to make a card that you need right now? The Cake Soiree suite makes it so easy to put together some cards to have handy and ready to send out. The colours are rich but fresh at the same time. The gorgeous Designer Series Paper is one of the keys to quick cards.  It is so lovely on it's own that it doesn't take much more to make your card beautiful. Just pick out one of the colours and highlight it.  There are sure to be colours in your stash that will match this paper (if not, you may just have to buy some more!!). The sentiments in the circles come with the set, as does the one on the bottom left. The top right sentiment is borrowed from the fun Picture Perfect Birthday set. The same paper can look different when framed with a different coordinating colour. Having matching thinlets mean less fussy cutting of those little flower buds! I cut the cake from the foiled DSP.   Of course, you could...
