Birthday Blooms

Hi everyone,

I have looked and looked at the stamp set Beautiful Blooms, loving it each time I turn to it in the annual catalogue.  I have no idea why I hadn't bought it earlier!

But now I have it and it was the set I turned to when another colour challenge came up recently.

The colours reminded me of gelato!!



Thinking cap on, Beautiful Blooms at the ready and I got to work!
 
  I stamped the bloom and then water coloured the image using the aqua painter and inks to colour it.


 

I wanted to "ground" the image so I used a stencil and blended Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay as I went to give a type of trellis look. I then raised the bloom on foam dimensionals.

The card was mounted on Sweet sugarplum after  adding a sentiment from the beautiful scripted sentiments included in the set, using Soft suede (which I had also used in the leaves).


I doesn't really show here, but the bloom was finished off with a Wink of Stella that really gave it a nice sheen (ok, it was the bling I love to add!!)

Crazy Crafters blog hop with Dena Rekow

This week we are hopping with Dena Rekow and using her blog  http:// www.thecreativitycave.com/  as inspiration. I spent so long looking through Dena's blog - not because I couldn't find anything, but because I loved so much! In the end I decided to use this card as my inspiration.  I loved the simplicity and the depth created with the different green ink colours used. And here is the card I created. I used the open leaf from Healing Hugs stamp set and stamped it in the colours  Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Poppy Parade and Lemon Lime Twist - such a juicy fruit mix of colours!   I wanted the colours to be uplifting for the sentiment that I used from the Friendly Expressions stamp set.  I embossed the background with the Lovely Floral embossing folder to give added dimension and then mounted the embossed and stamped panels on Pineapple Punch.
