Bright and Cheery

The days are cooler here so what better way to feel warmer than to make a bright and cheery card - or two! A while ago I sat down and stamped and coloured this gorgeous floral spray from Petal Palette stamp set.  I thought they would be ready for quick cards - and they were! These two cards were made using the new In colours paper and card stock. It is easy to create different looks very easily - you could make a whole series of these and have them on hand ready for any occasion. Very easy to make. Cut a panel for your card front out of the In colour paper (Pineapple punch and Lovely Lipstick were used here). Cut a banner using matching cardstock.  (On the Lovely Lipstick one, I added another strip of coordinating paper for a bit of interest.) Stamp you sentiment either directly onto the cardstock or onto a white strip of cardstock making sure there is room to add your flowers. Assemble by raising the banner on dimensionals, adding ...

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Danielle Kassing

Today we are CASEing Danielle Kassing from the Netherlands. I got lost in her blog - Stamp Along - with all the lovely cards and projects she had posted. I decided on this water-coloured background card. I decide to do mine in portrait using greens and berry colours. I washed the water colour cardstock and then dropped the colour on the water soaked area.   I started with the lightest, which was Mint Macaron.  Next I added Tranquil Tide and let it run into the lighter ink a little.  I decided I wanted a little contrast so added little splatters of Rich Razzleberry which blended in nicely as it dried. I used one of the Pearl doilies with a punched sentiment for the centre. The lovely flowers were fussy cut from the Share What You Love DSP. The whole cardfront was mounted onto Rich Razzleberry card before adding to the card. I finished with a few pearls scattered around. Check out what the other...

Delicate Delightfully Detailed DSP

Delicate Delightfully Detailed  DSP - now there's a tongue twister!! It may be tricky to say, but so easy to make cards that have a WOW! factor. It is delicate and the best way to cut this laser cut paper, I found was to snip out pieces that you could use in a variety of ways. If the piece was too big for the project I would just snip the edges off.  If I needed to cut the whole project down, it was best to turn it over and cut from the back with the trimmer. The paper has two sides, white and vanilla so it works with different card bases and backgrounds. It really pops when you put it on dark cardstock .  How easy!!  Cut out pieces (or use up leftovers) and add a sentiment - DONE!! Adding colour behind. For this one I laid down the piece I had across the card and lightly marked around the main features with a pencil. I lifted off the lacey piece and then added colour with my sponge dauber to the areas marked.  I would keep laying the piece on t...

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Jessica Brigden

Hi Everyone, Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Jessica Brigden. I have always liked the Petal Palette Suite and so when I saw these cards from a card kit that Jessica had been promoting, I was tempted to break out my stamp set and replicate the lovely purple card straight away!! I decided I could file that away in my ideas file for later as I really wanted to try something different. The new Share What You Love DSP has some lovely images that are great to fussy cut.  I love the colours too as they go so well together. So out came the scissors and I snipped away until I had a bunch of blooms. I rearranged them into this beautiful bouquet. Don't they look great together?! The sentiment is from the Love What You Do stamp set - just love that font! And, yes, Petal Palette did still get a look in - it's the background stamp (dots) The returning Mint Macaron is the background colour, which compliments all the other colours. S...

Colour Inkspiration #34

The latest challenge at Colour Inkspirations was a lovely mix of soft, almost gelato, colours. These colours could make a fun card, or something more calming and reserved.  I love blending colours so that is where I started.  I created a circle template and blended Pool Party and Basic Grey to make a soft back ground for me to add a pop of colour. I stamped the flowers from the Love What you Do set, in Daffodil Delight and added a touch of Calypso Coral as a highlight.  They really popped against the subtle background. As the flowers were the "star of the show", I stamped the sentiment, from Petal Palette, in Basic Grey and mounted it, and the card front, onto Pool Party - both featuring in the blended circle. I think it has made a lovely serene card.  I might go and try it in reverse now!!  Wonder how that will look!!? Give it a try - with any combination, as there are so many that would look wonderful! 'Til next time Keep c...

Daisy Delight

Having a play with the Daisy Delight bundle.  This comes with a Stamp set and a punch.   The daisy punch will punch out your daisy image after stamping the flower details, or you can use it to punch out coloured card. There have been some lovely things done with this punch. But rather than do the usual, I tried to create a different flower for this card.  I think it is more like a chrysanthemum bud.  What do you think?? To make the flowers, I punched two white and one coloured card - Berry Burst in this case. I used my ink dauber and coloured just the tips of the petals including the sides - even on the coloured card. To make the petals roll up and curl, I put the daisy on a soft mat and used my stylus, with a ball end, to run down the centre of each petal - outside to the centre, pressing fairly firmly.   I loved watching the petals curl into the centre! I then layered then - whi...

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - CASEing Jessica Taylor

This week we are CASEing Jessica Taylor - number 118 globally!!!  Wow!! Looking at her blog I can see why.  It is full of amazing information to help you get started, try new techniques and full of inspiration. There was plenty to choose from to CASE  - I was spoilt for choice but I loved the look of this collection using a retired Sale-a-bration set. I updated the look with the new Animal Outing set from the new catalogue (coming very soon!!!) This set has some very cute animal images - the only one I didn't use was the Giraffe. The Kangaroo has a little Koala in it's pouch - very cute and a nice tribute to us stampers down under!  I decided, as he had the little arm (?) sticking out, it was just right to hold a sign. I used the Petal passion paper as it has many black and white papers to choose from, and this reminded me of jungle vines. The Rhino, not often thought as a cute, is just that, especially with the ...
