Let it begin!

Here I am with my own blog!

I have been wanting a platform to post my creative journey - even though I am well into it now, there is always something new out there I want to try.

My latest is to join Stampin' Up.  I love how designs come together so easily and the finished article is so professional.  This means building my stash (oops, more shopping!!) so I can produce some of the amazing work I see out there from my fellow crafty group called the Crazy Crafters.

I'm getting to know the products and what I can do with them.  I'm also trying to just use Stampin' Up products on Stampin' Up projects - makes me disciplined but as it all co-ordinates so beautifully, it should be fun!

Here are some of my recent attempts using just a few Stampin' Up stamp sets that I currently own.

The beautiful lady, looking all carefree in her yellow dress and the stylish "woman in a red dress" are from a set called Beautiful You.  So well named!

Sunshine sayings seemed just the right set to make a card for my Mum who is not doing so well, so I wanted her to know that I was sending her Love and hugs,  adding a flower in her favourite colour.  It's hard when you are not in the same city/country and someone in your family is doing poorly.

Tonight I am working on a little set, that, so far, looks very cute.

I'll be sure to post once I'm done.

Today I wanted to challenge myself to try something a  bit different by showing the versatility of any stamp set - even if it only has a few images - and do three cards  with either different techniques or use the stamp in a different way.  Maybe even look at the stamps in the set and see what else I can do with them. I thought this would be a good way to show someone, that may be interested in a particular set, or trying to decide, or thinking a particular set didn't do very much, to think again and see the possibilities....

What a great way to get ideas on all the amazing new product than with a card swap! Organised by one of the Crazy Crafters, Nicole, we had to create a card front using anything from the new Occasions Catalogue or Sale-a-bration products - those are the freebies you get for every $AU90 you spend - and that is soooo easy to do once you see what's  inside the new catalogue! As the name says, there are new designs for all those upcoming occasions - Valentine's, Easter, Mother's  Day,  and almost anything ...

Crazy Crafters blog hop with Dena Rekow

This week we are hopping with Dena Rekow and using her blog  http:// www.thecreativitycave.com/  as inspiration. I spent so long looking through Dena's blog - not because I couldn't find anything, but because I loved so much! In the end I decided to use this card as my inspiration.  I loved the simplicity and the depth created with the different green ink colours used. And here is the card I created. I used the open leaf from Healing Hugs stamp set and stamped it in the colours  Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Poppy Parade and Lemon Lime Twist - such a juicy fruit mix of colours!   I wanted the colours to be uplifting for the sentiment that I used from the Friendly Expressions stamp set.  I embossed the background with the Lovely Floral embossing folder to give added dimension and then mounted the embossed and stamped panels on Pineapple Punch. I cut around the sentiment and layered it with dimensionals. A...
