Playing with the Waterfront

I've been playing with the Waterfront stamp set for the first time.
I have seen some beautiful examples of this set but had yet to try it for myself.

I had saved some of these cards on Pinterest and thought they were a good place to start.

My first card was inspired by Amanda Bates. She had some brilliant instructions on her blog, making using this stamp so easy.
So easy to create my first landscape masterpiece!

Feeling confident, I moved on to a larger design using many examples as inspiration.
I know some people have said they have used photos or landscape pictures as their inspiration which has produced some beautiful work.

Even my husband was impressed when I showed him, even though he is always supportive, he really liked these cards. I think I'll be doing more of these soon - they make me feel like an artist!

Now.....what else can I do with this one......

Thanks for stopping by.
'Til next time, keep crafting!

Today I wanted to challenge myself to try something a  bit different by showing the versatility of any stamp set - even if it only has a few images - and do three cards  with either different techniques or use the stamp in a different way.  Maybe even look at the stamps in the set and see what else I can do with them. I thought this would be a good way to show someone, that may be interested in a particular set, or trying to decide, or thinking a particular set didn't do very much, to think again and see the possibilities....

What a great way to get ideas on all the amazing new product than with a card swap! Organised by one of the Crazy Crafters, Nicole, we had to create a card front using anything from the new Occasions Catalogue or Sale-a-bration products - those are the freebies you get for every $AU90 you spend - and that is soooo easy to do once you see what's  inside the new catalogue! As the name says, there are new designs for all those upcoming occasions - Valentine's, Easter, Mother's  Day,  and almost anything ...

Crazy Crafters blog hop with Dena Rekow

This week we are hopping with Dena Rekow and using her blog  http:// www.thecreativitycave.com/  as inspiration. I spent so long looking through Dena's blog - not because I couldn't find anything, but because I loved so much! In the end I decided to use this card as my inspiration.  I loved the simplicity and the depth created with the different green ink colours used. And here is the card I created. I used the open leaf from Healing Hugs stamp set and stamped it in the colours  Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Poppy Parade and Lemon Lime Twist - such a juicy fruit mix of colours!   I wanted the colours to be uplifting for the sentiment that I used from the Friendly Expressions stamp set.  I embossed the background with the Lovely Floral embossing folder to give added dimension and then mounted the embossed and stamped panels on Pineapple Punch. I cut around the sentiment and layered it with dimensionals. A...
