Scrolling through my go-to inspiration site, Pinterest, I found a card by Jaimie Barbarczy where she had used white embossing on black with a pop of colour.
It was striking so I thought I would try it out myself.
Loved how it turned out!!
Sorry that the photo looks a little squashed but the truth is, I was trying to hide the crafting mess that is right behind!!
I tried another one using Bermuda Bay - one of my favs!
The black makes such a dramatic statement and the pop of bright colours make it refreshing.
May have to try some other versions of these - maybe with gold embossing!!

The Melon Mambo really pops this card.

They both look wonderful. So many times I have gone to use the white embossing powder and still shy to use it.
ReplyDeleteNeed to do this as I just love how you have kept a big negative space then using the colours makes each part of the card pop.
I agree! White embossing, especially on black, can be scary! Even when it doesn't turn out perfect, it still looks dramatic. Give it a go!!
ReplyDeletethese cards and colours look fantastic Shirley.....I can't wait to try and make these myself!
