New colour challenge

A new colour challenge last week had lovely soft pastels to play with.

I played around with a couple of themes trying to mix up my stamps.

Each of the cards had a different feel to it and amazing how different they can look when you mix up the amount of one or two colours.

The first card uses the Kinda Eclectic with the sentiment from Sweet Cupcake

Kinda Eclectic for those stamped off leaves and  Falling flowers for the feature flowers on this next one.  The sentiment is from Beautiful You.

Banner blast gave this a party vibe so I die cut the "congrats" sentiment from the Sunshine Wishes out of fun foam and then again from white card to make it pop from the card.  Of course, a coating of Wink of Stella to give it some bling.  Unfortunately my photography on this one doesn't show how good the colours looked together against the craft background.

These colours were fun to play with and there were some great entries this week.

Let's see what they come up with next to challenge us!!

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - CASEing Jessica Taylor

This week we are CASEing Jessica Taylor - number 118 globally!!!  Wow!!
Looking at her blog I can see why.  It is full of amazing information to help you get started, try new techniques and full of inspiration.
There was plenty to choose from to CASE  - I was spoilt for choice but I loved the look of this collection using a retired Sale-a-bration set.

I updated the look with the new Animal Outing set from the new catalogue (coming very soon!!!)

This set has some very cute animal images - the only one I didn't use was the Giraffe.

The Kangaroo has a little Koala in it's pouch - very cute and a nice tribute to us stampers down under!  I decided, as he had the little arm (?) sticking out, it was just right to hold a sign. I used the Petal passion paper as it has many black and white papers to choose from, and this reminded me of jungle vines.
The Rhino, not often thought as a cute, is just that, especially with the little bird perched on his horn.  The embossing folder reminded me of an…

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Patsy Waggoner

This week we are CASEing Patsy Waggoner.
We had to pick a card of hers and Copy and Selectively Edit it.
It was such a joy to look through her blog (http://www.stampstodiefor.com/patstamps/) and Pinterest page - I was left with plenty of choices.
I picked this one:

I was taken by the colours initially and the white space.
I wanted to make a card with the same use of white space and colours that popped.

Here's what I did with this in mind......

I used the new First Frost from the upcoming Holiday catalogue. This set is gorgeous! Instead of diecuts tucked behind the white panel I stamped in Versamark. The contrast between the colours Blueberry Bushel and Mango Melody really pop.

I love the watercolour look of the stamps.  The sentiment is from the Friendly Expression stamp set - don't you love that font!
I added a sprig die cut from vellum to add some texture.

You can try this for yourself in any number of colour combination.
You can use any stamps you have on hand, or you can get the new F…

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Linda Cullen

We are blog hopping with Linda Cullen today!!
I found plenty of inspiration over at her blog - https://www.craftystampin.com/blog/

She has so many posts of beautiful projects I found it hard to just stick to one to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit)! So I did three!!!

The first one I saw, the colours just popped from the card.

I changed up the colours, using two of the new colours - Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green and the base is Sea Foam.  The embossing folder I used was Lovely Floral.  This is a dynamic folder, meaning it makes a nice deep impression and can be used Emboss or Deboss (upside down) - this is how I used it.

I used the Botanical Bliss stamp set for the flowers, vines and sentiment which were all heat embossed in white.

I loved all the elements in this next card - the patterned paper, the embossing and the matching stamps.

I turned mine 90 degrees and, even though I was all ready to add an emboss image, I ended up leaving it off.  It could do with a couple of Glitter enam…
