Colour INKspiration #29

Colour INKspiration has a new colour challenge every fortnight on a Wednesday evening.  I am always excited to see what combo is waiting for us, and then I get my thinking cap on!

I am particularly thrilled to be a guest in this Colour INKspiration #CI29 blog hop!

The challenge for #CI29 had a lovely rustic feel and I was instantly drawn to the lovely bouquet.

I started thinking woodland......cascading flowers....woodgrain.....texture... and surprisingly, it came to me pretty quickly what I wanted to do.

I pulled out the colours I needed and started to put it all together.

I used my layering circle framelits to cut a circle frame from the Wood Texture DSP with a Very Vanilla circle underneath for stamping my sentiment.

The flowers and leaves were cut using the Bouquet Bunch framelits.  I trimmed the bunches down to get the shapes I wanted and cut some individual ones to add here and there.

Added a bit of dimension by raising the circle frame up from the Very Vanilla base.

The final touch was adding some texture with one of the Petal Pair Embossing folders.

Of course, nothing is finished unless it has a little bling to help it sparkle!

I love how it turned out.  Why don't you try this combo and see what you come up with!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to head on over to Monique Fielder next.

Today I wanted to challenge myself to try something a  bit different by showing the versatility of any stamp set - even if it only has a few images - and do three cards  with either different techniques or use the stamp in a different way.  Maybe even look at the stamps in the set and see what else I can do with them. I thought this would be a good way to show someone, that may be interested in a particular set, or trying to decide, or thinking a particular set didn't do very much, to think again and see the possibilities....

Crazy Crafters blog hop with Dena Rekow

This week we are hopping with Dena Rekow and using her blog  http:// www.thecreativitycave.com/  as inspiration. I spent so long looking through Dena's blog - not because I couldn't find anything, but because I loved so much! In the end I decided to use this card as my inspiration.  I loved the simplicity and the depth created with the different green ink colours used. And here is the card I created. I used the open leaf from Healing Hugs stamp set and stamped it in the colours  Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Poppy Parade and Lemon Lime Twist - such a juicy fruit mix of colours!   I wanted the colours to be uplifting for the sentiment that I used from the Friendly Expressions stamp set.  I embossed the background with the Lovely Floral embossing folder to give added dimension and then mounted the embossed and stamped panels on Pineapple Punch. I cut around the sentiment and layered it with dimensionals. A...
