Crazy Crafters Blog hop - CASING Martha Groeger

Image may contain: text

Well this is exciting!!
My first time Blog Hopping with the Crazy Crafters!!

Our theme for this Blog Hop was to CASE (copy and selectively edit) Martha Groeger.

When I went to Martha's blog over at:

I was taken by the start of her blurb in the About Me section.
She says:
Mit einem Lächeln...
... geht es sich viel leichter durchs Leben.

Which translates to:

With a smile...
.....it is much easier through life.

Wow!  The simplicity, but impact, of this statement !!

When looking through Martha's blog entries and her creativity, I was taken with this card.

It sung to me like the statement above - simplicity but impact.

I toyed with some designer series papers until it struck me - to get that impact I was after I was going to keep it simple and bold using black and white and a pop of colour.

The Petal Passion DSP was perfect with it's black and white colour palette.
I used the Petal Palette stamps for the roses and coloured them using watercolour pencils and a blender pen.

I finished it off with some metallic thread, a glitter die-cut and some glitter dots - adding that little bit of bling!

I hope you like it !!

Today I wanted to challenge myself to try something a  bit different by showing the versatility of any stamp set - even if it only has a few images - and do three cards  with either different techniques or use the stamp in a different way.  Maybe even look at the stamps in the set and see what else I can do with them. I thought this would be a good way to show someone, that may be interested in a particular set, or trying to decide, or thinking a particular set didn't do very much, to think again and see the possibilities....

Crazy Crafters blog hop with Dena Rekow

This week we are hopping with Dena Rekow and using her blog  http:// www.thecreativitycave.com/  as inspiration. I spent so long looking through Dena's blog - not because I couldn't find anything, but because I loved so much! In the end I decided to use this card as my inspiration.  I loved the simplicity and the depth created with the different green ink colours used. And here is the card I created. I used the open leaf from Healing Hugs stamp set and stamped it in the colours  Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Poppy Parade and Lemon Lime Twist - such a juicy fruit mix of colours!   I wanted the colours to be uplifting for the sentiment that I used from the Friendly Expressions stamp set.  I embossed the background with the Lovely Floral embossing folder to give added dimension and then mounted the embossed and stamped panels on Pineapple Punch. I cut around the sentiment and layered it with dimensionals. A...
